Seamus Bhatt-Mackin MD, FAPA, CGP, FAGPA, presents a brief review of the available empirical literature about online group therapy, explores the shift in conceptual frame, considers suggestions about techniques from experts in the area (including some practice during the teaching session) and invites reflection together.

About the Presenter

Seamus Bhatt-Mackin, MD, FAPA, CGP, FAGPA is a staff psychiatrist, individual and group psychotherapist, and clinician educator at the Durham VA Medical Center; the founding Director of the Program Clinical Group Work in the VA Mid-Atlantic MIRECC (Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center); and Past President of the Carolinas Group Psychotherapy Society. He was recently elected as a Fellow in the American Group Psychotherapy Association

Objectives

  1. - Brief review of the available empirical literature on group therapy online.
  2. - Shift in conceptual frame.
  3. - Suggestions about techniques from experts in the area (including some practice during the teaching session).
  4. - Reflection together.

Certificate of Attendance

A one-hour attendance certificate documenting attendance will be provided. While these are not certified CE Contact Hours, for some licenses, our certificate verifying attendance would be sufficient.
