I have practiced for over 50 years. The foundation of my approach to therapy whether individual, family or group is applying the teachings of Virginia Satir, who I trained with for nearly 20 years. I am a master Satir trainer-therapist and have travel Internationally and Nationally, sharing The Satir Growth Model to therapists and organizational leaders. I am currently involved in establishing a Satir Practitioner Certificate Program at the UNC School of Social Work. My position is Director of Advanced Studies with their Satir program. I have taught many workshops on group process, although that has been some years ago. Most of that training was through the Community Psychiatry Division of the Psychiatry Department at UNC. My mentors in the Community Psychiatry program were Terry Miller, Ph.D, Will Edgerton, Ph.D and Bill Hollister, MD.. I am sorry to say all three and Virginia are deceased..
